The German chemical industry is more optimistic than any other industry sector when it comes to achieving national climate protection targets. According to a recent study by CAMELOT and CHEManager, more than half of all chemical companies surveyed consider the reduction of CO2 emissions by 2038 to be achievable. And greenhouse gas neutrality is supposed to be reached by 2050.
However, important requirements must be met for this to happen. In the current special “Innovation & Chemistry”, the FAZ (German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung) addresses the results of current CAMELOT studies: the article “Climate-friendly production and CO2-neutral growth” (published Oct 20, 2019) discusses climate protection and sustainability in the chemical industry and explains how climate protection and sustainable growth can be accelerated.
