Lady Gaga, Sandra Bullock, Tim Cook and Bill McDermott have one thing in common: they all have been on stage at SAPPHIRE NOW 2019, the largest annual SAP event of all times with more than 30.000 attendees. This year, it was all about EXPERIENCE and how companies can boost their success and innovation by truly listening to their customers. Camelot ITLab had an outstanding presence at the conference, introducing visitors to the EXPERIENCE of the Self-Driving Supply Chain.

The three days at SAPPHIRE NOW did hold a lot of great presentations for the professional audience, beginning with Bill McDermott’s opening keynote and Hasso Plattner’s inspirational deep-dive at the second day. Both gave their vision on how O-data (operational) and X-data (experience) can be brought together to change the viewpoint for businesses: putting the customer in the focus. Also, the announcement of new services was a big topic, like the SAP Data Warehouse Cloud, as well as the increasing SAP S/4HANA adoption. The SAP world is transforming faster than ever, creating great innovations and value for our customers.

#DDMRP

At the evening before the conference officially opened its doors in Orlando, Florida, on May 7, we already had our first highlight. SAP and Camelot ITLab invited to a joint product launch cocktail reception for SAP IBP for Demand-Driven Replenishment.

The product launch cocktail reception was hosted by Hala Zeine, President Digital Supply Chain at SAP, and Dr. Josef Packowski, CEO of the CAMELOT Consulting Group. In their opening speeches they both emphasized the importance of the co-development partnership between Camelot ITLab and SAP as well as the immense impact of the new solution for companies to thrive in the ever more volatile business world. The solution enables enterprises to leverage the state-of-the-art DDMRP (Demand-Driven Material Requirements Planning) concept and takes their supply chain planning to a new level. Please find here the official press release, announcing the general availability.

Camelot co-innovation customer BSH joined the panel “Predict and Meet Customer Demand with a Digital Business Planning Strategy”, where Sebastian Peters, VP Global Supply Chain at BSH Group, gave insights into their early and very promising DDMRP experience. David Vallejo, VP, Global Head of Digital Business Planning at SAP, did a great job introducing the Digital Supply Chain concept and moderating the panel.

Two further sessions shed light on the new solution and gave advice on how to “Reduce Your Inventories Based on a Demand-Driven Replenishment Strategy” as well as “Is DDMRP Right for Your Organization?”. Presenters were Stephan Kreipl, Chief Product Owner, SAP Integrated Business Planning for Demand & Demand-Driven Replenishment at SAP, and Jay Foster, Director Solution Management at SAP.

#Hypertrust

With its blockchain innovations based on the Camelot Hypertrust Platform and Trusted Computing Appliances, Camelot ITLab is a pioneer for business-ready blockchain solutions. Two of them have been launched and presented at SAPPHIRE NOW. In cooperation with Dell EMC and Intel, Camelot developed a solution for “Ingredients Regulation Automation”. In short: a solution for how Blockchain can be used to quickly update allergy information on food labels and other consumer packaged goods.

The second use case scenario is a world premiere and joint project with Deutsche Telekom to make the management behind ecommerce for digital products easier with a blockchain enabled accounting automation platform. Stephan Westermeyr, VP at Deutsche Telekom IT, explained background and functionality of this novelty in his session at SAPPHIRE NOW: It is the very first enterprise use case utilizing JP Morgan’s Quorum blockchain technology presented in an SAP context and the first time ever that the blockchain platforms of the pioneers Camelot ITLab, SAP and TLabs were joined in one scenario.

Another hot topic at SAPPHIRE NOW was SAPs new machine learning and data science platform, called SAP Data Intelligence. Our experts had a close look at it. To accelerate use cases and innovation in the field of AI, Camelot has founded the “Global Community for AI in MDM”.
